Syarikat Peladang Dan Perusahaan Minyak is seeking an experienced Mill Manager to lead the operations of our palm oil processing mill in Hilir Perak District. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily mill activities to achieve target Oil Extraction Rate (OER), Kernel Extraction Rate (KER), and throughput while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage a multidisciplinary team, and collaborate with senior leadership to align mill performance with corporate objectives. Responsibilities
- Oversee all mill operations including sterilization, threshing, pressing, clarification, and kernel recovery to meet daily production targets.
- Monitor and optimize OER, KER, and overall throughput through data analysis and process adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 22000, MSPO).
- Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff; conduct performance evaluations and training.
- Manage mill budget, control operating costs, and oversee procurement of consumables and spare parts.
- Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure timely supply of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) and efficient dispatch of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel products.
- Implement continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase yield.
- Prepare operational reports, KPI dashboards, and present findings to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process) or a related technical field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- Minimum 5â7 years of experience in palm oil milling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Inâdepth knowledge of FFB processing, oil extraction, kernel recovery, and mill machinery.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding OER/KER targets and improving mill efficiency.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA), quality standards (ISO 22000), and sustainability certifications (MSPO, RSPO).
- Proficiency in using SCADA, SAP or similar ERP systems, and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
