Responsibilities
- Ensure all surgical equipment and instrumentation are functional, sterile, and ready for scheduled procedures.
- Assist the surgical team with the safe transfer and positioning of patients to ensure comfort and safety.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of theatre supplies and manage equipment replenishment workflows.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control protocols within the operating theatre suite.
- Provide technical support during procedures, including setting up specialized surgical machinery.
- Collaborate with the biomedical engineering team for the routine maintenance and repair of complex OT equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation related to equipment usage and sterilisation cycles.
Qualifications
- ITE Certificate in Healthcare (Support) or a relevant NITEC/Diploma in a medical-related field.
- Previous experience working in an Operating Theatre or sterile services department is highly advantageous.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and adherence to strict clinical protocols.
- Excellent physical stamina to handle the demands of a high-activity environment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to support 24/7 hospital operations.
- Strong team player with effective communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Basic computer literacy for logging equipment and administrative tasks.
