Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee 24/7 plant operations to ensure power generation targets and KPIs are consistently met.
- Implement and enforce rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Develop and manage annual operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and procurement.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule outages and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify and implement process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to foster professional growth.
- Ensure full compliance with all local regulatory requirements, energy commission standards, and environmental laws.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding operational status and emergency response coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in plant operations, with at least 3 years in a senior management or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in power plant cycles, thermodynamics, and energy generation systems.
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and ISO management systems.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage complex technical teams in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities tailored to technical troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal.
- Professional Engineer (PEng) status or relevant Steam/Internal Combustion Engineer certifications are highly preferred.
