Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Lab Technician to join our engineering team in Bayan Lepas, Penang. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and compliance within our optical production environment. You will work directly with precision equipment to guarantee that all measurements are traceable and meet rigorous IATF standards. Your expertise will be vital in managing lab systems, performing uncertainty analysis, and calibrating critical optical instruments. Responsibilities
- Perform precision optical testing and measurement analysis on components and finished goods.
- Conduct routine and calibration of optical equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Analyze measurement uncertainty and document results in accordance with IATF 16949 standards.
- Maintain and manage lab system records, ensuring all data is complete and compliant.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or measurement discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement process improvements.
- Adhere to strict safety and quality protocols within the laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in an optical laboratory or precision engineering setting.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality management systems and calibration procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and high precision.
- Ability to operate complex optical measurement equipment and software.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Valid driver’s license is an advantage.
