A reputable Kumon centre in Bandar Country Homes is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our growing academic team. This role is perfect for students, recent graduates, or anyone passionate about childhood development looking to gain hands-on teaching experience in a structured environment.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the Kumon method, fostering a positive learning atmosphere, and helping children build the confidence they need to succeed in their academic journey. We provide a supportive environment where you can develop your communication and mentorship skills while contributing to the intellectual growth of young learners.
Responsibilities
- Guide and assist students with Kumon worksheets to ensure correct completion and understanding.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and conducive learning environment for all students.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback during learning sessions.
- Help with administrative tasks, including marking worksheets and maintaining study records.
- Ensure that classroom materials are organized and replenished as needed.
- Collaborate with the lead instructor to address specific student learning needs.
- Foster student independence and self-learning habits in line with the Kumon philosophy.
Qualifications
- Minimum SPM qualification or currently pursuing a tertiary education degree.
- Strong proficiency in Mathematics and English (additional subjects are a plus).
- Patient, energetic, and genuinely passionate about working with children of various ages.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Highly organized, punctual, and reliable with a professional attitude.
- Ability to commit to a flexible part-time schedule during centre operating hours.
- Previous tutoring or teaching assistant experience is preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided.
