Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of church interiors including pews, floors, altars, restrooms, and hallways to ensure a spotless environment before and after services.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, wipe down fixtures, doors, and railings, and maintain dust-free and polished spaces.
- Keep entrances, lobbies, and surrounding walkways clean and safe; ensure floors are dry and free of hazards.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling; restock cleaning supplies and maintain inventory as directed.
- Assist with setup and reset for services, weddings, funerals, and community events as required.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and safety protocols; use approved cleaning chemicals and wear provided uniform and PPE.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly and assist with basic preventive maintenance tasks when needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in cleaning or facilities support is preferred; church or hospitality environments are a plus.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety data, and proper use of cleaning equipment.
- Good command of English and clear communication with staff and volunteers.
