Job Description
Micron Semiconductors is a global leader in memory and storage solutions, and we are looking for a dedicated PFA Engineer (Failure Analysis) to join our dynamic team in Singapore. In this critical role, you will utilize your deep technical expertise to investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex semiconductor device failures. Your work will directly impact our manufacturing readiness and product quality, ensuring that we deliver the most reliable memory products to the world. We offer a collaborative environment where innovation meets precision. If you are passionate about understanding the root causes of failure and driving continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
As a PFA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our quality assurance lifecycle, utilizing state-of-the-art instrumentation to uncover the 'why' behind device failures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions that enhance yield and reliability across our production lines.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical failure analysis (PFA) on memory devices using advanced techniques such as Focused Ion Beam (FIB), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
- Conduct systematic root cause analysis (RCA) to identify defects, process anomalies, and reliability issues within the manufacturing line.
- Document detailed failure mechanisms and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional teams, including process engineers, design teams, and quality assurance.
- Develop and implement corrective actions and process improvements to reduce yield loss and enhance device reliability.
- Utilize statistical tools and data analysis to monitor failure trends and predict potential manufacturing risks.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by performing pre-silicon and post-silicon failure analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Failure Analysis (PFA) within the semiconductor or electronics industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with failure analysis tools, including SEM, TEM, FIB, and optical microscopy.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
