As our Pollution Control Officer, you will oversee the critical lifecycle of industrial wasteāfrom segregation and accurate labeling to safe storage and secure transport. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our environmental integrity by managing precise chemical inventories and ensuring that every aspect of our facility adheres to DENR and EMB guidelines. Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day segregation, labeling, and hazardous waste storage operations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage and maintain accurate Chemical Inventory reports for all materials processed on-site.
- Coordinate the secure and compliant transport of hazardous waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential environmental risks and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit mandatory environmental reports (SMR/CMR) to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
- Facilitate employee training programs regarding environmental safety, handling, and waste minimization protocols.
- Monitor and analyze waste management performance metrics to identify areas for operational improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) certification is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of RA 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act) and other environmental laws.
- Strong attention to detail with proven experience in inventory management and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced waste management environment.
