TMK Chemical is seeking a highly motivated Procurement Engineer / Purchasing Executive to join our dynamic team in Ara Damansara. You will be responsible for end-to-end procurement cycles, leveraging your technical expertise to negotiate competitive pricing, monitor lead times, and maintain robust supplier relationships. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective procurement strategies for chemical raw materials and engineering components.
- Manage the full purchasing cycle, from issuing Purchase Orders (PO) to coordinating delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular market research and vendor benchmarking to ensure cost-efficiency and supply quality.
- Negotiate favorable terms, payment conditions, and contracts with local and international chemical suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal production teams to prevent stock-outs.
- Evaluate supplier performance through KPIs and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ERP system entries in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand chemical product specifications.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple vendors simultaneously.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
