Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in mission-critical infrastructure? Our client, a premier APAC data center specialist, is currently expanding their operations and seeking two high-caliber Procurement Managers (CAPEX) to join their regional team. This is a critical role focused on high-value data center construction and expansion projects.
As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end strategic sourcing and contract management for large-scale CAPEX projects. You will work closely with engineering, project management, and legal teams to ensure the timely delivery of mission-critical equipment and services. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with industry-leading technology and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, an ability to manage complex vendor landscapes, and a proven track record in technical procurement within the construction or data center sector. You will be instrumental in driving cost efficiencies while maintaining the highest quality standards required for Tier III/IV data center facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for data center CAPEX projects.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, including RFPs, RFIs, and complex contract negotiations with global vendors.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to define technical requirements and ensure vendor alignment.
- Perform detailed cost analysis, budget management, and risk mitigation for multi-million dollar projects.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regional regulatory requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance, lead time management, and service level agreements (SLAs) for critical infrastructure hardware.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships to secure favorable pricing and supply chain resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in procurement, specifically within construction, data center, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing high-value CAPEX procurement cycles and complex contract management.
- In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure equipment (e.g., HVAC, Power, UPS, Generators).
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage international vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and project management software.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to manage budget reporting and project timelines.
