Changhuat Plastic Industries (Senai), a leading plastic manufacturer based in Senai, Johor, is seeking a talented Product Engineer to drive new business development and oversee key projects from concept to production. In this role, you will collaborate with design, production, and sales teams to deliver innovative plastic solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards.
As Product Engineer, you will manage the entire product lifecycle—from feasibility studies and cost analysis to prototyping, tooling, and mass production. You will be responsible for ensuring product quality, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Lead product development projects from initial design through production launch, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Collaborate with clients to understand technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments for new products and processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to optimize tooling, materials, and production methods.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer meetings and proposals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in product engineering or project management within a manufacturing environment, preferably plastic injection molding or extrusion.
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, mold design, and production processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
