Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Engineer to join a leading chemical manufacturing team on Jurong Island. This is a shift-based role (12-hour rotations) offering a competitive remuneration package with fixed allowances and company transport provided.
As a Production Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality chemical production. You will supervise daily operations, troubleshoot process issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This role is ideal for a degree holder in Chemical Engineering or a related field who thrives in a rotating shift schedule and is passionate about process optimization and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control chemical production processes to meet quality, yield, and safety targets.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment or process deviations.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data and recommend process improvements to optimize efficiency.
- Prepare shift reports and handover documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in chemical production or process engineering (fresh graduates with internship exposure may be considered).
- Strong understanding of chemical process operations and safety standards.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (including nights and weekends).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Knowledge of process control systems and SCADA is an advantage.
