Responsibilities

  • Perform precision cutting, trimming, and deboning of various meat products according to company and customer specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace in accordance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory levels and rotate stock to ensure optimal freshness and minimize wastage.
  • Operate and maintain meat processing equipment such as band saws, grinders, and slicers safely.
  • Assist in the display and merchandising of meat products in the retail counter to attract customers.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding meat selection and preparation techniques.
  • Monitor temperature controls for storage and display units to ensure compliance with health standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter in a retail, grocery, or food production setting.
  • Deep knowledge of meat anatomy, cutting techniques, and safe handling practices.
  • Proven ability to operate standard meat processing machinery safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and sanitation protocols.
  • Excellent physical stamina, capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
  • Strong communication skills to provide excellent customer service.
  • High school diploma or vocational training in Culinary Arts or related field is an advantage.
