Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and plating standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen workspace in accordance with food hygiene standards.
- Manage food inventory, prep work, and minimize waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
- Coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and quality to maintain high standards for all dishes.
- Participate in menu development sessions and suggest creative culinary improvements.
- Ensure all cooking equipment is functioning correctly and performing routine maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Cook, specifically in Western cuisine.
- Strong understanding of professional cooking techniques, including searing, poaching, roasting, and sauce preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and kitchen best practices.
- Good team player with strong communication skills and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business.
- Certification from a culinary school or vocational institution is a plus but not mandatory with proven experience.
