We are currently inviting applications for a Project Engineer / Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO) at the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC).

In this role, you will take full ownership of the entire project lifecycle. You will work closely with industry partners, researchers, and engineers to deliver innovative solutions that redefine manufacturing capabilities. Responsibilities include project scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, risk assessment, budget management, quality assurance, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to successful completion within established constraints.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage R&D projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies using PMO best practices.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including researchers, engineers, and industry partners, to achieve project milestones.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation plans to ensure timely delivery.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, stakeholder communications, and status reporting to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement within the PMO by refining project management methodologies, tools, and templates.
- Mentor junior project team members and contribute to building project management capabilities within the organization.
- Prepare and present technical and business reports to senior management and external funding agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). A Master's or PhD is advantageous.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in project management within an R&D, engineering, or technology development environment.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project management frameworks (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum). PMP certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and procurement processes in a research or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., robotics, AI, 3D printing, automation) is a strong plus.
