As a hands-on leader in a fast-paced environment, you will:
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution for engineering initiatives in Johor, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, risk registers, and resource allocations; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, quality, and operations; manage vendors and contractors to meet project milestones.
- Track performance metrics, generate status reports for stakeholders, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture with clear accountability and strong people management.
- Ensure quality control, change management, and documentation processes are robust and auditable.
- Support portfolio-level prioritization and provide forecasts, scenarios, and what-if analyses to inform decisions.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven project management experience in engineering or construction, preferably within Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) and MS Office.
- Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex projects in a dynamic environment.
- Keen understanding of regulatory requirements, safety, and quality standards relevant to engineering projects.
