Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of plant harvests to assess quality, maturity, and compliance with established specifications.
  • Collaborate with cultivation technicians to analyze yield data and identify opportunities for process and quality improvements.
  • Perform regular quality audits of cultivation environments, including climate control, nutrient delivery, and sanitation.
  • Document and report non-conformances, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and effective.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all quality control processes.
  • Manage the collection, preparation, and dispatch of samples for external laboratory analysis (potency, contaminants, genetic testing).
  • Train and mentor cultivation staff on best practices for quality handling, GAP, and GMP protocols.
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials and finished goods to ensure quality integrity throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role within an agricultural, horticultural, or biotechnological environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GAP (Good Agricultural Practices), and HACCP principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with a Quality Management System (QMS) is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak harvest seasons, to meet business needs.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (spoken and written) is required.
