Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on AI technologies, their societal impacts, and relevant policy frameworks.
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative studies, including surveys, case studies, and data analysis.
- Prepare research reports, policy briefs, and academic manuscripts for publication in peerâreviewed journals and policy outlets.
- Engage with stakeholders such as government agencies, industry leaders, and civil society organizations to gather insights and disseminate findings.
- Assist in the development of grant proposals and contribute to project management activities.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI trends, regulatory developments, and scholarly debates through continuous learning.
- Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars, both locally and internationally.
- Support the supervision of junior researchers or research assistants as needed.
Qualifications
- Masterâs or Ph.D. degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Computer Science, AI Ethics, or a related field.
- Proven track record of research excellence, demonstrated through publications, reports, or policy projects.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
- Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning concepts, and their policy implications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and liaising with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, Stata) and reference management software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fastâpaced academic environment.
