Are you passionate about creating innovative food products? Join our dynamic team as a Research & Development Executive (R&D) based in Bidor, Perak, where you will play a key role in developing and improving new and existing food items.
You will be responsible for the endâtoâend product development process, including formulation design, laboratory testing, sensory evaluation, and validation of prototypes. Working closely with crossâfunctional teams such as production, quality assurance and marketing, you will ensure that each product meets both consumer expectations and regulatory standards.
Key activities include:
- Conceptualize and design food formulations that meet nutritional, cost and quality targets.
- Perform microâbiological, chemical and physical tests to verify safety and compliance.
- Conduct shelfâlife studies and stability testing to guarantee product consistency.
- Analyze sensory data and consumer feedback to refine product characteristics.
- Scale up successful prototypes from the lab to pilot plant, ensuring smooth technology transfer.
- Maintain accurate documentation of recipes, procedures and test results in line with ISO/FSS standards.
- Stay upâtoâdate with emerging food trends, ingredient technologies and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities
- Lead new product development from concept to launch, focusing on formulation and process optimization.
- Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure seamless scaleâup.
- Perform routine quality checks and troubleshoot production issues.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
- Manage R&D projects, timelines, and budgets.
- Stay current with industry trends and recommend innovative ingredient solutions.
- Document all research activities, including protocols and specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of handsâon experience in food product development or R&D.
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and sensory evaluation.
- Familiarity with lab equipment and testing methodologies.
- Ability to interpret data using statistical tools.
- Excellent problemâsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in Bidor, Perak, and occasionally travel to supplier or production sites.
