Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations and workflow management of the research laboratory to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on advanced research equipment and instrumentation.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols in accordance with Singapore regulations.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including procurement of consumables, chemicals, and equipment spare parts.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service technicians for equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to graduate students, research fellows, and visiting scientists.
  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in designing experimental setups and providing technical feasibility feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory or core facility setting.
  • Proven experience with equipment installation, operation, and maintenance in a research context.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards, hazardous material handling, and waste disposal procedures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
