Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel HCI techniques that integrate generative AI models into interactive systems.
- Develop prototypes and proof‑of‑concept applications showcasing AI‑assisted content creation, interaction, and adaptation.
- Conduct user studies and experiments to evaluate usability, effectiveness, and user satisfaction of AI‑enhanced interfaces.
- Prepare research manuscripts, conference papers, and journal articles for submission to leading HCI and AI venues.
- Contribute to grant writing and project planning, helping secure external funding for lab initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise undergraduate and graduate students working on related projects.
- Stay current with emerging trends in generative AI, foundation models, and human‑centered design through continuous learning and community engagement.
- Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and interdisciplinary workshops to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or near completion) in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong publication record in top-tier HCI (e.g., CHI, UIST, CSCW) or AI/ML venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL).
- Hands‑on experience with generative models such as GPT, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C++/C#) and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Unity, Unreal).
- Expertise in user‑centered design methods, prototyping, and evaluation techniques (usability testing, A/B testing, surveys).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, research‑intensive environment.
- Prior experience with immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR) is a plus but not required.
