Compart Systems Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a detail‑oriented RFQ Engineer to manage the Request for Quotation process for semiconductor and weldment products. In this role you will analyse customer specifications, develop cost‑effective proposals, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely and accurate quoting. You will play a key part in winning new business while maintaining profitability and technical compliance.
Based in Kulim, Kedah, you will work closely with sales, engineering, procurement and finance to translate customer needs into competitive bids. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or weldment fabrication, and proficiency with quoting tools and ERP systems. Responsibilities
- Analyse customer RFQs and technical drawings to determine scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including material, labour, overhead and tooling.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to assess feasibility and suggest design for manufacturability improvements.
- Develop and maintain quotation templates and pricing databases in ERP/MRP systems.
- Communicate quotations to customers, address technical queries, and negotiate terms.
- Track quotation status, win/loss ratios, and provide regular reporting to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and contractual obligations.
- Continuously improve quoting processes through data analysis and best‑practice adoption.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in quoting, estimating, or sales engineering within semiconductor or metal fabrication industries.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material costs, and cost‑estimation methodologies.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and quoting software.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or similar quality management systems is a plus.
