Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and rigorous validation of novel molecular diagnostic assays for various disease areas.
- Execute complex laboratory experiments utilizing advanced molecular techniques, including qPCR, NGS, digital PCR, and microarrays.
- Analyze and interpret intricate molecular and genetic data, effectively communicating findings through reports and presentations.
- Contribute significantly to the strategic planning, experimental design, and successful execution of R&D projects within the DxD Hub.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO 13485, CE-IVD, HSA) and maintain robust quality management systems throughout the assay development lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and scientific inquiry.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, scientific reports, and contribute to patent applications and peer-reviewed publications.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including biologists, chemists, engineers, and clinicians, to drive project milestones.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in molecular diagnostics research and development, preferably in an IVD product development setting.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with a broad spectrum of molecular techniques, including PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, NGS (library prep, sequencing platforms), microarray analysis, and automation.
- Proven track record in successful development and validation of diagnostic assays, with a strong understanding of assay optimization and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and statistical analysis software for interpreting complex molecular and genomic data.
- Familiarity with international regulatory requirements for diagnostic products (e.g., FDA, CE-IVD, HSA) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 13485).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information clearly and concisely.
