Job Description
The Provincial Government of Catanduanes is looking for a dynamic and resultsāoriented Senior Agriculturist to join our team in the Bicol Region. This is a seniorālevel position that offers the chance to shape agricultural policy, drive innovative farming projects, and directly support the provinceās farming communities.
In this role you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring a wide range of agronomy programs aimed at improving crop productivity, promoting sustainable land use, and enhancing food security across Catanduanes. You will work handāināhand with local government units, agricultural extension workers, farmer cooperatives, and national agencies to ensure that best practices are adopted and that resources are used efficiently.
Key responsibilities include designing crop management strategies, conducting soil and climate assessments, preparing technical reports, and delivering training to field staff and farmers. You will also be expected to develop GISābased maps of agricultural lands, prepare budget proposals, and represent the department in interāagency meetings and public consultations.

Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of crop management, soil fertility, and integrated pest management projects.
- Provide technical guidance and training to agricultural extension officers and farmer groups.
- Conduct field assessments, soil and climate analyses, and prepare detailed technical reports.
- Develop and maintain GISābased maps and databases for agricultural land use and productivity.
- Prepare budget proposals, grant applications, and progress reports for external donors.
- Collaborate with national agencies, research institutions, and NGOs to introduce innovative agricultural technologies.
- Represent the Provincial Government in interāagency meetings and public forums on agricultural development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in agricultural extension, research, or project management.
- Proficiency in soil analysis, crop production technologies, and sustainable farming practices.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with GIS, data management, and statistical software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and publicāspeaking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local government units, NGOs, and farmer communities.
- Knowledge of Philippine agricultural policies, regulations, and programs.
- Registration with the Agricultural and Fisheries Professional Regulation Commission (AFPRC) or equivalent is preferred.
