Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis for large-scale construction projects using advanced engineering software.
- Prepare comprehensive structural calculations, detailed drawings, and technical specifications for tender and construction documentation.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and external consultants to ensure project requirements and design intents are seamlessly integrated.
- Conduct rigorous checks and reviews of engineering designs to ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on design challenges and site-related issues.
- Identify innovative solutions to complex structural problems, optimizing material usage and construction sequences.
- Manage project design timelines to ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Perform site inspections and provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure structural design fidelity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in structural design, specifically within the construction or precast industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) status with BEM is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar analysis tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Malaysian building standards (BS/Eurocodes/MS).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead discussions with project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical mindset with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
