Singapore Telecommunications is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Centre) to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of high‑performance electrical systems within our cutting‑edge data centre facilities. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of electrical power distribution systems for data centre facilities, including HV/LV switchgear, UPS, and standby generators.
- Manage end‑to‑end project execution, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
- Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations, and risk assessments to optimize system reliability and energy efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s electrical codes, Singapore Environment Council standards, and best practices such as Tier III/Tier IV requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response for electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and as‑built records.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, evaluating emerging technologies and recommending upgrades to enhance performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in data centre or large‑scale facility environments.
- Proven expertise in power distribution design, UPS systems, standby generation, and HV/LV switchgear.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI/ASHRAE, IEEE, and Singapore’s Electrical Code.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) is advantageous.
