Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and engineering for high-rise and complex building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and ELV systems.
- Develop and review electrical schematic diagrams, load calculations, cable sizing, single-line diagrams, and specifications in accordance with local codes and international standards.
- Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and civil engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, energy audits, and sustainability assessments to optimize energy performance and meet green building certifications (e.g., BCA Green Mark, LEED).
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources; ensure deliverables are on schedule and within scope.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of quality and innovation.
- Attend site inspections, witness testing, and commissioning activities to verify installation compliance and system functionality.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies (smart buildings, IoT, renewable integration) and propose innovative solutions for complex challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design for buildings, with a strong portfolio in high-rise or complex projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Dialux, Revit MEP, ETAP, SKM Power Tools) and BIM workflows.
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore’s Code of Practice for electrical installations (CP5, SS 638) and relevant building regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering innovative, cost-effective designs under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Mandarin or other regional languages is an advantage for client interactions.
