About the Role
Celestica is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Lead Digital Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) team in Bayan Baru, Penang. This is a pivotal role where you will drive the Electrical and Electronics (E&E) design strategy for complex global projects spanning HealthTech, Industrial, Smart Energy, Aerospace, and Capital Equipment segments.
As a leader within our engineering organization, you will be responsible for spearheading the design and development of sophisticated digital systems. You will work at the cutting edge of technology, translating complex customer requirements into robust, manufacturable, and high-performance electronic solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and development of high-speed digital circuits and E&E systems for ATS market segments.
- Conduct advanced signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations to ensure design reliability and performance.
- Oversee and provide technical guidance for complex multi-layer PCB layout designs, focusing on DFM and DFT principles.
- Drive technical decision-making and provide expert-level troubleshooting for hardware-related issues during the development phase.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and thermal engineering, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Act as a primary technical point of contact for global customers, translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Mentor and coach junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage design verification testing (DVT) and lead compliance efforts for EMI/EMC and industry-specific certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in digital hardware design, preferably within a high-reliability manufacturing or design environment.
- Extensive experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, DDR4/DDR5, Ethernet (10G+), and USB 3.0/4.0.
- Proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or Mentor Graphics.
- Proven track record in designing for regulated industries such as Medical (ISO 13485) or Aerospace (AS9100).
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, microcontroller/processor-based architectures, and FPGA integration.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing complex projects and leading technical teams.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
