Are you a seasoned semiconductor professional passionate about pushing the boundaries of microelectronics? The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Research Engineer to join our elite FAB facility. In this role, you will be at the forefront of Ion Implantation and Rapid Thermal Annealing (RTA) process development.
You will play a pivotal role in driving predictive process analytics and optimizing tool performance to support cutting-edge research and industry prototyping. We are looking for an innovative expert who can translate complex data into actionable process improvements, ensuring our FAB operations meet the highest standards of reliability and precision in a high-stakes research environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and characterization of Ion Implantation and RTA processes for advanced semiconductor device nodes.
- Implement predictive process control (PPC) and advanced analytics to proactively monitor tool performance and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to define process requirements for next-generation microelectronics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, throughput, and process uniformity.
- Manage maintenance schedules, tool qualification, and troubleshooting for specialized FAB equipment.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff on best practices for process integration and experimental design.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety and quality protocols within the laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor FAB environment, specifically focusing on Ion Implant and RTA processes.
- Proven expertise in predictive modeling, statistical process control (SPC), and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Python, or SQL).
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and thin-film characterization techniques.
- Experience in leading technical projects and managing complex process integration workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to interface effectively with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced R&D environment.
