Soon Soon Oilmills Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Manager to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and facility systems across our Pulau Indah plant. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all plant assets, leading a multidisciplinary team to achieve operational excellence. You will develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes, manage shutdowns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Oversee planning and execution of scheduled shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Analyse equipment performance data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across all maintenance activities.
- Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships to optimise cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and HSE departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, KPIs, and improvement plans to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in maintenance management within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in palm oil, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of leading large multidisciplinary teams and managing complex maintenance programmes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, HVAC, and utility plants.
- Expertise in preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Familiarity with Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations (OSHA) and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in CMMS/EAM software and MS Office Suite.
