Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and oversee the installation of telecommunication systems (VSAT, CCTV, PABX, LAN/WAN, radio, satellite) for marine vessels and offshore structures.
- Conduct technical evaluations, system integration testing, and commissioning to ensure all telecom equipment meets project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and test procedures.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolve complex technical issues during installation, integration, and operational phases.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, classification societies (e.g., DNV, ABS), and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay updated with emerging telecom technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation related to telecom work packages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in telecom engineering, with at least 3 years in marine or offshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of satellite communications, RF systems, IP networking (Cisco, MPLS), fiber optics, and wireless technologies.
- Proven experience with marine telecom systems integration and testing (FAT/SAT).
- Familiarity with international marine and telecom standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, ITU, IEEE).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Professional certification such as CCNA, RCDD, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and interface with clients.
