MINDS is looking for a passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Woodlands Gardens School in the North Region of Singapore. In this role, you will deliver student‑centred, evidence‑based instruction that meets the unique learning needs of each pupil, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.
You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists—to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Your teaching strategies will incorporate differentiated instruction, adaptive technologies, and data‑driven assessments to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Beyond classroom teaching, you will mentor and support teacher aides, provide training workshops for parents, and actively participate in school‑wide initiatives that promote inclusive education. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver evidence‑based, student‑centred lessons tailored to individual IEP goals.
- Develop and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with therapists, parents, and school staff.
- Utilize adaptive technologies and differentiated instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, analyze data, and adjust teaching methods to maximize student progress.
- Mentor and supervise teacher aides, providing guidance on classroom management and behavior support.
- Facilitate parent workshops and communicate regularly to involve families in the learning process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a special education setting.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and behavior intervention plans.
- Strong classroom management and behavior modification skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in Special Education (e.g., RSW, RST, or equivalent) is advantageous.
