Renesas Electronics Corporation, a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, is seeking a Senior Staff Product Engineer to join our Analog and Mixed Signal Business Unit (AMS) in Bayan Lepas, Penang. As a key member of our AMS team, you will lead cross-functional initiatives, define characterization plans, analyze test data, and resolve complex yield or quality issues. Responsibilities
- Lead product development from initial silicon validation to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring seamless transition across all stages.
- Define and execute comprehensive characterization and qualification plans for mixed-signal and analog ICs.
- Drive yield enhancement and cost reduction programs through statistical analysis (SPC, DOE) and root-cause troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with design, test, and operations teams to resolve product issues and optimize test coverage and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain product documentation including specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior product engineers and support cross-functional project teams.
- Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to address product performance and reliability concerns.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in product engineering for analog or mixed-signal semiconductor products.
- Proven track record in product characterization, ATE test development, and yield analysis (preferably with Advantest, Teradyne, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuit fundamentals (e.g., amplifiers, data converters, power management).
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools (JMP, Spotfire, or Excel) and data mining techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in a global environment.
- Familiarity with quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and reliability qualification (JEDEC) is a plus.
