Join Sanmina's cutting-edge engineering team in Bedok as a Staff / Senior Hardware Design Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will drive the design, validation, and optimization of next-generation hyperscale servers that power the world's most demanding data centers. Leverage your deep expertise in GPU architecture and high-speed networking to create robust, energy-efficient solutions that set new benchmarks in performance and reliability.
As a senior member of the hardware team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups across electrical, mechanical, and firmware disciplines to deliver end-to-end server platforms. Your work will directly impact cloud computing, AI/ML workloads, and large-scale enterprise deployments. We seek a visionary engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of server hardware innovation.
At Sanmina, we offer a dynamic environment where your contributions are valued and rewarded. You will have access to state-of-the-art lab facilities, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to work on projects that shape the future of technology. If you are ready to make a tangible impact and elevate your career, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design high-performance hyperscale server platforms, including motherboard, power delivery, and signal integrity subsystems.
- Develop and validate GPU integration solutions for AI/ML and HPC applications, ensuring optimal thermal and electrical performance.
- Lead high-speed networking interface design (PCIe Gen5/Gen6, 100G/400G Ethernet) to meet low-latency and bandwidth requirements.
- Perform schematic capture, layout reviews, and prototype bring-up while collaborating with PCB designers and manufacturing partners.
- Conduct rigorous design verification testing (DVT), signal integrity analysis, and debug to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) initiatives to streamline production and reduce time-to-market.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and best practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with software and firmware teams to validate BIOS, BMC, and system-level performance benchmarks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design for servers, storage, or networking equipment.
- Deep understanding of GPU architecture (NVIDIA/AMD) and experience with GPU server platforms (e.g., DGX, HGX).
- Strong proficiency in high-speed digital design, including PCIe, DDR4/DDR5, and high-speed serial links.
- Proven track record of taking complex hardware designs from concept to volume production.
- Familiarity with signal integrity simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, ADS) and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, BERTs).
- Knowledge of power architecture (VRs, PMBus, efficiency optimization) and thermal management techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
