Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of back-of-house cleanliness. From operating industrial dishwashers and meticulously hand-washing delicate glassware to sanitizing kitchen surfaces and managing waste, your work ensures flawless execution behind the scenes. You will play a vital role in inventory management of cleaning supplies and assist our chefs with basic food preparation and station organization. Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, cookware, and cutlery to company standards
- Operate industrial dishwashers and perform manual washing of delicate items
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, drains, and food storage areas
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of buffet lines, events, and daily service
- Properly store, organize, and inventory cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Support the culinary team with basic food preparation and station setup as needed
- Conduct routine inspections of dishwashing machinery and report any maintenance issues
- Adhere strictly to all HACCP, sanitation, and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Steward, Dishwasher, or Kitchen Helper (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Strong understanding of sanitation, hygiene standards, and cleaning agents
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) and stand for long shifts
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Basic English communication skills are an advantage
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid food handler's card is a plus
