Our client, a leading private advertiser in the mining and civil infrastructure sector, is currently seeking dedicated Structural Construction Workers for their operations based in Sintok, Kedah. This is a contract/temporary position offering an attractive hourly rate of RM 15.50.
As a Structural Construction Worker, you will be at the forefront of executing civil and structural works on mining sites and related infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and setting up formwork, pouring and finishing concrete, installing steel reinforcement (rebar), and assisting with earthmoving and excavation activities. You will work closely with site supervisors and engineers to ensure all construction meets project specifications, safety standards, and deadlines.
This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate has prior experience in mining or heavy civil construction, a valid construction safety card, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities
- Perform concrete pouring, finishing, and curing activities according to project specifications.
- Assemble and dismantle formwork for structural elements such as beams, columns, and slabs.
- Install and tie steel reinforcement bars (rebar) as per engineering drawings.
- Carry out earthworks including excavation, backfilling, and compaction under supervision.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain equipment in good condition.
- Assist in the layout and setting out of structural elements.
- Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with team members to meet daily production targets.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in structural construction, preferably in mining or civil works.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in outdoor conditions.
- Possess a valid construction safety certification (e.g., CIDB Green Card, OSHA).
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and instructions.
- Familiarity with concrete mix design and quality control procedures.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, and weekends as required.
- Own transport and valid driving license preferred.
