This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire and nurture young minds in Grades 1 and 2 (ages 6–8 years) within a vibrant, international community that values holistic education, intercultural understanding, and academic excellence.

As a primary school teacher at UWCSEA, you will deliver a dynamic, inquiry-based curriculum that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. You will work collaboratively with a team of educators to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive. This is a fantastic chance to gain experience in a world-renowned educational institution while contributing to the development of globally-minded students.

We seek educators who are committed to professional growth, enjoy working in a diverse setting, and possess a genuine passion for teaching young children. If you are ready to make a positive impact and be part of a forward-thinking school, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the UWCSEA primary curriculum for Grades 1 and 2.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each student.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences and participate in curriculum development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and areas for growth.
  • Supervise students during activities, field trips, and break times to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in co-curricular activities, events, and professional learning communities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education (Primary) or a related field with a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of successful full-time teaching experience at the primary school level, preferably with Grades 1 or 2.
  • Experience in an international school or a multicultural environment is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; additional language skills are an asset.
  • Strong understanding of child development, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to the UWC mission and values, including peace, sustainability, and intercultural understanding.
  • Valid teaching certification or license from the candidate's home country.
