Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed studies of customer specifications to develop effective design modifications for AC and DC electric motors.
- Create precise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Collaborate with production engineers to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM).
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses (FEA, thermal, electromagnetic) to validate motor performance.
- Oversee prototype building and testing, analyzing results to refine designs.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including BOMs, test reports, and technical manuals.
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding product specifications and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated with industry trends and new materials to recommend improvements in motor efficiency and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within the motor, automotive, or heavy machinery industry.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of electric motor theory, including winding, magnetic circuits, and insulation systems.
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001 and IE3/IE4 efficiency regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficient in English; fluency in Mandarin or Malay is a distinct advantage for interfacing with regional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
