Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of vessel equipment and systems to ensure continuous seaworthiness.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
- Supervise technical crews and contractors during dry-docking, repair, and modification projects.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to manage spare parts inventory and technical supplies efficiently.
- Analyze vessel performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and maintenance budgets for management review.
- Conduct regular onboard inspections to audit equipment conditions and maintenance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related maritime discipline.
- Proven experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar senior role in the maritime or heavy equipment industry.
- In-depth knowledge of vessel maintenance management systems and marine engineering principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with multicultural crews and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in maintenance scheduling software and standard office productivity tools.
- Strong understanding of Philippine maritime laws and international safety management (ISM) codes.
- Willingness to travel to vessel locations as required for inspections and emergency repairs.
