In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping the technical proficiency of our service and engineering staff, ensuring that our local operations meet the rigorous global standards of BYD.
As our Technical Trainer, you will translate complex EV architecture, battery management systems, and high-voltage safety protocols into digestible, actionable learning modules. You will not only be responsible for training delivery but also for identifying knowledge gaps and fostering a culture of technical excellence across our workshop and service centers. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs focused on EV systems, including powertrain, battery thermal management, and vehicle control units.
- Conduct hands-on technical workshops and classroom sessions for service technicians and support staff.
- Create high-quality training materials, including technical manuals, instructional videos, and assessment tools.
- Provide expert technical guidance to address complex vehicle diagnostics and repair challenges.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and field performance feedback.
- Stay abreast of the latest automotive technological advancements and regulatory changes to update curricula accordingly.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new technical personnel regarding BYD's proprietary diagnostic tools and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automotive technical training or senior technical support roles.
- Strong expertise in Electric Vehicle (EV) systems and high-voltage battery safety.
- Proven ability to break down complex technical information for diverse learning styles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Certification in adult learning or professional training is highly advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple training schedules effectively.
