Join SBS Transit as a Technician for DTL Rolling Stock and play a vital role in keeping Singapore’s rail network safe, reliable, and efficient. As a Technician, you will contribute to the reliability of our DTL rolling stock by applying hands-on electrical and mechanical expertise in a depot environment. You will diagnose faults, perform timely interventions, and document maintenance actions to support continuous improvement and uptime for passenger services. Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electric trains, depot equipment, and related systems to ensure reliability and safety.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform fault isolation, and implement corrective actions on rolling stock and subsystems.
- Inspect, test, and calibrate components such as traction, braking, HVAC, power distribution, and control systems.
- Document maintenance activities in the CMMS, maintain accurate records, and escalate issues as required.
- Collaborate with engineering and depot teams to implement reliability improvements and part replacement plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards; participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Support depot equipment maintenance, test rigs, and associated electrical infrastructure to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in rolling stock or railway maintenance, or equivalent field experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, traction, braking, control, and diagnostic principles; ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, electrical testing equipment, and CMMS/maintenance software.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset; able to work effectively in a depot environment with occasional shift requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English; able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Eligibility to work in Singapore or valid work permit/visa as required by local regulations.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and stay updated on railway industry standards.
