Join UEM Edgenta, a leading infrastructure and facilities management company, as a Traffic Management Officer in Kulai, Johor. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of traffic operations on key road and expressway projects. You will lead a team to ensure compliance with all safety regulations, coordinate lane closures and traffic devices, and liaise with stakeholders including contractors, authorities, and the public. This is a contract position offering excellent exposure to large-scale traffic management systems and a chance to make a tangible impact on road safety in Malaysia.
As a Traffic Management Officer, you will oversee the implementation of temporary traffic management plans, conduct site inspections, and respond to incidents or emergencies to minimize disruptions. You will be the go-to expert for all traffic-related matters, ensuring that every operation meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise traffic management teams during roadworks, events, and emergency situations to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
- Develop, implement, and enforce traffic management plans in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate road lane closures, diversions, and the installation of traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barriers.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, ensure safety compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, government agencies (e.g., JKR, police), and the public to resolve traffic-related issues and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor and report on traffic conditions, incident data, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports, incident logs, and documentation for all traffic management activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic management, road safety, or construction site operations.
- Certification in Traffic Management (e.g., from CIDB or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian road traffic regulations, safety standards, and temporary traffic management guidelines.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Possess a valid driving license and own transport; willingness to travel within Johor.
