Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and update training modules and materials for lift and escalator systems, covering installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
- Conduct engaging and hands-on training sessions for technicians and apprentices at various levels, both in classroom and on-site environments.
- Evaluate trainee performance through written assessments, practical exams, and field observations, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify skills gaps and tailor training programs to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Manage training schedules, maintain accurate records of attendance and certifications, and ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards.
- Stay current with industry trends, code changes, and emerging technologies in vertical transportation to continuously improve training content.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality by integrating best practices and risk management principles into all training activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in lift and escalator maintenance, repair, or installation.
- Previous experience in a training or instructional role is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore and international safety standards (e.g., BCA, SS 550, EN 81).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to assess technical competencies and design effective learning interventions.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, LEEA) are a plus.
