Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum aligned with educational standards and school philosophy
- Create and deliver engaging lessons in various art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media
- Assess student progress through evaluations, projects, and portfolio reviews
- Prepare and distribute educational materials including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
- Supervise classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment
- Organize student art exhibitions and participate in school events
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate arts across the curriculum
- Stay current with art education trends and incorporate new techniques and technologies into teaching
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field
- Teaching certification or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience teaching visual arts to students in K-12 settings
- Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic proficiency in various mediums
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative and innovative teaching approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with students
