Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all main engines and auxiliary machinery in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Serve as a key technical officer for Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, ensuring full functionality and compliance during offshore operations.
- Supervise engine room personnel, delegating tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Maintain accurate engineering logs, reports, and documentation as required by company policy and flag state regulations.
- Monitor fuel consumption, engine performance, and energy efficiency, identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Ensure that all engine room activities are conducted in strict adherence to environmental regulations and MARPOL requirements.
- Conduct regular safety drills and participate in onboard training programs for junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as 2nd Engineer (Unlimited).
- Mandatory: Current DP Maintenance Certificate (DPVM) is strictly required for this position.
- Proven experience working on Offshore Vessels (AHTS, PSV, or similar types).
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine operation, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written, for effective communication with a multicultural crew.
- Valid STCW certificates, medical fitness certificate, and travel documentation (Seaman’s Book).
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging offshore environments and adapt to worldwide voyage schedules.
