Scanmar Maritime Services is seeking a qualified 2nd Mate to join our container vessel operations. We are a leading maritime manning agency providing highly skilled crew for various vessel types including bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, and more.

Responsibilities
- Assisted navigation and watchkeeping duties on the bridge during assigned watches
- Maintain watch over the vessel's navigation and safety equipment
- Ensure proper cargo handling operations in compliance with safety regulations
- Prepare navigation charts and passage planning under the Captain's guidance
- Supervise deck crew and coordinate cargo operations
- Maintain ship stability calculations and documentation
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and other international regulations
- Participate in safety drills, emergency procedures, and shipboard training
Qualifications
- Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate with 2nd Mate license
- Minimum 2 years of experience as 2nd Mate or Watchkeeping Officer on container vessels
- Proficiency in ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System)
- Knowledge of COLREG (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea)
- GMDSS certification preferred
- Excellent command of English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Physically fit with valid medical certificate
