Scanmar Maritime Services is currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious 3rd Mate to join our expanding fleet of Oil/Chemical Tankers. As a 3rd Mate, you will play a pivotal role in the safe navigation of the vessel, cargo operations, and ensuring strict compliance with international maritime safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Officer in the safe conduct of cargo operations, specifically focusing on loading and discharging of oil and chemical products.
- Maintain the vessel's navigation equipment and ensure that all charts and publications are up-to-date.
- Serve as a bridge watchkeeping officer at sea and duty officer during port operations.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspection of life-saving and firefighting appliances (LSA/FFE).
- Ensure compliance with the vessel’s Safety Management System (SMS) and MARPOL regulations.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of bridge logbooks and navigational records.
- Supervise deck ratings during maintenance and deck operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as OIC-NW (Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch) with tanker endorsement.
- Relevant experience serving as 3rd Mate on Oil or Chemical Tanker vessels is highly preferred.
- Up-to-date STCW mandatory training certificates and valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISGOTT.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural crew environment.
- Proven track record of safety-first mentality and strict adherence to company policies.
- Must be ready for deployment on worldwide trade routes.
