Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the nutritional status of oil palm crops through regular field inspections, tissue analysis, and diagnostic tools.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, data-driven fertilizer programs tailored to soil analysis results and specific crop requirements.
  • Conduct, oversee, and analyze results from field trials for new fertilizer types, crop protection products, and advanced agronomic practices.
  • Analyze data on crop performance, soil health, and nutrient uptake to identify trends and optimize yield and quality.
  • Identify and accurately diagnose issues related to pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, proposing effective and timely corrective actions.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and training to plantation management and field staff on best agronomic practices and innovative techniques.
  • Contribute actively to the development and implementation of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental management systems.
  • Prepare detailed reports on agronomic findings, recommendations, and the efficacy of implemented programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Science, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an Agronomist, with significant exposure to oil palm plantations.
  • Strong understanding of oil palm physiology, soil science, plant nutrition, integrated pest management (IPM), and crop protection strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret results from agricultural field trials.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools relevant to agricultural science and plantation management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a proactive approach.
