As an Air Export Freight Planning Assistant, you will play a critical role in coordinating airline bookings, optimizing cargo capacity, and maintaining seamless communication with airline partners. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and confirm airline bookings to meet strict shipment schedules.
- Plan and optimize cargo capacity to ensure cost-efficiency and space utilization.
- Monitor export shipments from origin to destination, providing timely status updates to stakeholders.
- Liaise effectively with airline partners and ground handling agents to resolve operational discrepancies.
- Prepare and process necessary shipping documentation, including Air Waybills (AWB) and export declarations.
- Identify potential flight delays or capacity issues and implement proactive contingency plans.
- Maintain accurate logs and records in the Freight Management System (FMS).
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience or internship in air freight operations is highly advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships with airline representatives.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team.
- Familiarity with local customs export regulations and documentation processes is a plus.
