Our client is seeking a dynamic Airfreight Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end import and export processes. In this role, you will be the driving force behind operational efficiency, ensuring that time-sensitive cargo is managed with precision and compliance in the fast-paced environment of Changi.
The successful candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in Singapore's airfreight regulations and logistics landscape. You will be expected to maintain hands-on involvement in daily operational workflows while providing strategic leadership to your team. Given the global nature of air logistics, this role requires a candidate who is comfortable operating beyond standard office hours to meet critical shipment deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end airfreight import and export operations, ensuring timely processing and clearance.
- Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, and freight forwarders to optimize shipment schedules and costs.
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore Customs regulations, IATA standards, and internal safety protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot shipment discrepancies, providing rapid solutions to avoid operational bottlenecks.
- Lead and mentor operations staff to maintain high service standards and productivity.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and efficiency gains.
- Maintain clear communication channels with international clients and local stakeholders, ensuring transparent status updates.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in airfreight operations within the Singapore logistics sector.
- Strong working knowledge of TradeNet, customs declarations, and air waybill documentation.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with flexible availability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on operational accuracy and time-critical delivery.
- Relevant certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is highly regarded.
